The other day, we started talking about to get out of a rut if you’re stuck. One of the major reasons why people get stuck in life, business or any endeavour is the lack of a clear vision of where they want to go.
To have a clear vision, you need to have a clear desire. Let’s talk about that for a moment.
The foundation for vision is desire. A vision starts with a desire or a dream. And to have a vision that can stand the test of time, you need to have the right foundation: a true desire. Many desires are not really true. When an untrue desire matures into a vision, it doesn’t stand the test of time and life can very quickly get in its way.
For your desire to be true, it means that it must be what you really want. It has to be a God-given desire birthed on the inside of you. If you do not really want it, there’s no point building a vision around it.
So, let me ask you now: What do you really and truly want?
It’s a simple question, but it’s not always an easy one to answer. You may need to remove different kinds of fears and limiting beliefs to answer this question truthfully. Many times what you truly want is what I like to describe as the last man standing, when every little, tiny cover and barrier has been removed. It’s like peeling an onion, layer after layer. The last naked layer standing is what you really want.
It’s not always easy to get to our true desires because of all the fears and beliefs that we have been conditioned to live with. Additionally, because we know that people have certain expectations of us, we’re not usually free to uncover our real self and desires, no matter how close these people are to us. That’s one of the reasons that people work with coaches. A good coach will help you to answer this question with a freedom that’s true to you, and that’s very liberating and empowering.
To get going, you need to have a clear vision. To have a clear vision, you need to truthfully ask yourself what you really want. Get the foundation right. Sometimes, what you really want is the thing that you have not even allowed yourself to think about.
Think about that.
It’s your ONLY life. Make it significant.
